I don't bother trying to figure out what the meanings are behind songs because it's dave who writes the lyrics and so only he knows what they are. they could be a blend of meanings. and people who listen to them get their own interpretations on what he's trying to say. I just listen to them because i find the songs sound cool.

Only 1, yes 1, Foo Fighter song is about Kurt Cobain, and that's "Friend of a Friend" This song is both: A) a love song and B) about nostalgia, because Dave Grohl used to live on a street called Aurora. Some people think its about the good times he had there. Personally, this song is definitely in the top 10 and to tell the truth, It relates to my life right now in so many ways

@irishroverX Dave actually wrote this song about the street he lived on with Kurt. When they lived together, they lived in an apartment on Aurora st. So it does relate to Kurt in a way.
