Reminds me of the movie "BROTHER BEAR"....:)
@luv4metallica Electrically charged particles come from space (1) and enter the Earth's magnetosphere (2). They accelerate along the Earth's magnetic field lines which concentrate at the poles. The particles then plunge into the upper atmosphere (3) where they collide with the gases that surround the Earth.
These collisions create energy, and the excess energy is given off in the form of light emissions. We call these light emissions the Northern Lights.

Whoever saw this and experienced this and filmed this definitely had an experience that no1 else ever had. One of the lucky people on the planet...but where exactly is this taking place ? And howcome the light is so greenish? What is the phenomenon and why does it occur ?
"How small a portion of the infinite and gaping abyss of time has been assigned to each person! For it soon disappears into eternity. And how small a portion of the whole of being, or the Universal Soul. On what a small piece of earth you creep. Once you have pondered this, do not imagine anything to be of any magnitude, except acting as your nature guides you and enduring whatever Universal Nature may bring." ~ Marcus Aurelius
@PinkSlaking You see this and your reaction is to desire it as a screensaver. How about shooting a little higher - all of you who give this a thumbs up - and see it for real. The video description should read The Northern Lights are nature's most spectacular visual phenomenon....etc...can't beat the real thing...
If i haven't seen these myself i would think it was fake... its an amazing sight to see =D
This is #1 on the "things to do before I die list"
why arnt the stars moving?
wow...thats beautiful..definately on my list of things to do!
@HesitantTaco whats the proof though? (bear in mind im neither for or against god, i just enjoy peoples different point of view on the matter)
i only believe in science
Amazing.
@jagaknot your right, He still loves us all no matter how skeptical we are, He still loves us the same. People don't want to believe in God because they've never really experienced Him or seen him. They think it's just another fantasy, and they want to go along with the crowd. He really is there, but people don't want to believe it.
More like god at a bouncing night club
Spectacular sight. I wonder if we can harness some energy from it
amazing
i propose to my wife when we saw the northern lights amazing they are |
